Halfway Point
I am on page 360! Almost halfway done. I am surprised how fast I am burning throuhg this book. Christopher Paolini seems to have mastered the art of leaving a cliffhanger at the end of each chapter. This is exactly how I felt reading the Da Vinci Code. You can’t just casually read 5 minutes here and there, you just get engrossed in the story.
The storyline is still building towards an epic battle. Eragon has met and deterred Murtagh. Katherine and Roran are now married. Ayla seems to be warming up to Eragon’s romantic feelings. There are also some new feelings budding between Eragon and Nasuada. I wonder if the Dragon Rider will be able to end up with one of these formidable women. I also wonder how that would affect his relationship and bond with Saphira. And how a woman would be able to find her place within that relationship as well.
I have noticed a lot of similarities (and differences) between Eragon, Roran, and Murtagh. As the story develops I want to come back to that and compare and contrast the three of them.
I’m off to keep reading now!
